Who we are

Ripeto is made by B7 Software Pte Ltd (“we”, “us”), a company registered in Singapore (UEN 202600765D), 68 Circular Road, #02-01, Singapore 049422. We are responsible for the data described in this policy. Questions go to [email protected].

What stays on your iPhone

Everything you put into Ripeto is stored only on your device, in the app's own storage:

• The audio files you import, and their titles.
• What Ripeto works out about a song: its waveform, sections, tempo, beats and key. This analysis uses Apple's on-device frameworks.
• Stems. Splitting a song into instruments runs entirely on your iPhone; the audio is never uploaded.
• Your settings for each song: section names, markers, speed, transpose, count-in, stem mix and where you left off.

We can't see any of this. Deleting a song deletes its audio, analysis and stems; deleting the app deletes everything. If you back up your iPhone to iCloud or a computer, this data may be included in that backup, which is handled by Apple or stored on your computer, not by us.

Anonymous usage analytics

To understand how Ripeto is used and what to improve, the app sends anonymous usage events to PostHog, our analytics provider. We use PostHog's EU servers, so the data is stored in the European Union.

What is sent:

• App events, like the app being installed, updated, opened or sent to the background, and which screens and features are used.
• Technical details: app version, iOS version, device model, language, time zone and screen size.
• A random ID created on your device, so events from the same installation can be counted together. It isn't tied to your Apple ID, name, email or any other identifier, and it changes if you reinstall the app.

What is never sent: your audio, song titles, file names, section names or any other content you create, your contacts or your location. We don't create a user profile, we don't record your screen, and we've turned off PostHog's location lookup from IP addresses.

Like any internet connection, PostHog's servers see your device's IP address when the app sends events. It is used to deliver the data and is not stored with the events or used to locate you.

Our legal basis for analytics is our legitimate interest in keeping the app working well and deciding what to build next. Because the data is anonymous, we can't use it to identify you, and we don't combine it with data from any other source.

In Apple's App Store privacy label, this appears as Data Not Linked to You: Usage Data. Ripeto does not track you as Apple defines it, so it doesn't ask for tracking permission.

Downloads

The first time you separate stems, Ripeto downloads the separation model (about 55 MB) from Hugging Face, where it is hosted. As with any download, their servers see your IP address. No information about you or your music is sent.

Sharing a song

When you use Share Song, Ripeto creates a file with the song's audio and setup and hands it to iOS's share sheet. It goes only where you choose to send it, such as AirDrop, Messages or Mail, and never passes through our servers.

Feedback

If you email us, for example with Send Feedback in the app's settings, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply and to improve Ripeto, and we delete it when it's no longer needed.

Purchases

If Ripeto offers in-app purchases, they are processed by Apple. We don't receive your payment details, name or Apple ID; we only learn from Apple that a purchase was made, without knowing who made it.

Who we share data with

We don't sell, rent or trade data. The only service provider that receives data from the app is PostHog, which processes the anonymous analytics on our behalf. We may disclose information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Analytics events are kept only as long as they're useful for understanding how the app is used, and then deleted. Data on your device is kept until you delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, including under the EU and UK GDPR, Singapore's PDPA and California's CCPA, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, or to object to how it's used. Because the analytics are anonymous and not linked to you, we generally can't find the events that came from your device. You can still contact us at [email protected] and we'll help as far as we can. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

Ripeto is suitable for all ages and doesn't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we change how Ripeto handles data, we'll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect. Significant changes will also be mentioned in the app's release notes.
